problem with ground control coils(help!)
i got 350 front springs, and it seems like they are too soft. i have the adjustment perch screwed all the way into the spring and i cannot raise it anymore becasue sring tension, and when i lower the car into the ground the wheel sinks up into the wheelwell. the only thing i can think to do is get some higher rate springs for the front, but i dont know why i would have this problem with 350 lb rate springs. alot of other people are using this same springs and not ahving any problems. a i missing something or did they supply me with the wrong spring?

the # on the sring is 180.64.61
ill brb with measurements. and chekc this the adjustment perch starts tensioning the spring as soon as it hits halfway on the threaded area.,

btw, how did you specifically ask for 350# springs? the number you gave is just the vehicle specific kit which does not correlate to a custom rate. but, CRX/Civic springs are 350f/275r anyway, just fyi.
as for why the car doesnt raise any higher, just raise the shock perch up of the koni. i see no reason with 7-8" springs you cannot get a good ride height if you assembled it right. it has nothing to do with how soft the springs are.

oh, i see what youre trying to say. you cant raise the adjustable perch because the spring is pushing down making it hard to rotate the perch, even when the wheel is up.
well, here's a trick i use. get a beefy screwdriver or a stiff ratchet. insert it into the coils so the tip of the screwdriver rests on top of the sleeve. then, push up on the handle of the screwdriver, prying the spring up just enough so you can rotate the perch. youll have to reposition the screwdriver every few twists.
the other way you can do it is make sure the car is on jackstands, and then support the suspension underneath with a jack and raise the suspension to compress the spring just a bit. then remove the top shock nut while it is assembled in the control arms. then carefully and slowly lower the suspension with the supporting jack. now the spring should be completely uncompressed and you can freely adjust the lower perch. then jack up the suspension again so the shock rod can be tightened again to the top hat. this way you dont need a spring compressor.

i jacked up the car, took the wheel off, and put a jack under the rotor and jacked it up, and it easily compesses the spring up really far. can anyone tell me what this springrate is? i think its way too soft!
