i own a 98 accord. i was wondering if my F23A5 motor can handle turbo or supercharger. if possible, what would be a good company to get these kits from. my car is an automatic. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I can say that the Drag 4 turbo kit has worked really well for my Accord. I have loved having my car boosted it is lots of fun. If you want to supercharge it I am not sure if you would want to supercharge it cuz it may overwhelm the traction on it. Turbo and ATX would probably go really great for bracket racing on the local strip and still have great fun on the interstate. I don't know to much about your specfic motor but mine is the f23a1 motor and I am pretty sure yours is a closed block also so turbo will go great with it. I am sure of it. the F23A4 is much different then the F23A5. The F23A4 is the engine for the 99-00 four cylinder Lx and EX. The F23A5 is the the engine for the 6th generation dx. F-Max make a turbo fit for any 5th and 6th generation motor i think. i'm not sure about ur dx motor its alot differnt frum the F23A4 and F23A1.

 

F23A5 is the 135hp non-vtec motor. only in 98+ accord DX models. anything that fits on the F23A1 or F23A4 will fit the F23A5 (except a VTEC controller)

F23A5 has a lower compression ratio than the other F23s 8.8 instead of 9.3. the bottom end of the motors is the same though.

All F23s are open deck.

the A5 should take to boost the same or better than the A1 or A4 since they are almost the same motor except for the CR

 

yea its the same engine and everything but probaly cuz thers no variable valve timing in thats y its different from the F23A4 and F23A1.
