Today I swapped in some Skunk2 Stage 1 cams and cam gears into my 99 Si. I followed all the directions that I found at c-speedracing.com. Their instructions did not include taking off the distributor, which is different from what I've read elsewhere. Everything seems correct as far as TDC and all. Since I had to re-check everything like 3 times, the little distributor **** that the intake cam attaches to was turned a few times. Maybe this is the problem, but I don't know. I also did a valve adjustment. The engine just cranks and does not want to turn over at all. Even the cranking sound is different than before. It's a little more high pitched.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

was just checking your post on clubsi.....
look like it's something with the distrubutor......

 

make sure the firing order is correct... plug wires are all checked out. Distributor might me reversed 180 degrees.

 

check the dizzy

 

Problem solved!!! I didn't line up the crankshaft correctly with the cam gears. Once that was corrected and the valves were re-adjusted, it fired up fine again!!!
