Car won't start after cam install!! HELP!!!
Today I swapped in some Skunk2 Stage 1 cams and cam gears into my 99 Si. I followed all the directions that I found at c-speedracing.com. Their instructions did not include taking off the distributor, which is different from what I've read elsewhere. Everything seems correct as far as TDC and all. Since I had to re-check everything like 3 times, the little distributor **** that the intake cam attaches to was turned a few times. Maybe this is the problem, but I don't know. I also did a valve adjustment. The engine just cranks and does not want to turn over at all. Even the cranking sound is different than before. It's a little more high pitched.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Its not the dist. being in there wrong or getting turned, they only go in one way. Honda offset them that way. Check the timming...look to see that your crank is at tdc, and the #1 cyc. lubes are closed and those timming marks are correct. Did you unplug anything that needs to be plugged back in? Maybe the ground on the valve cover? That sometimes messes stuff up.
I would set the cam gears to 0 (I'll assume they are installed correctly) and redo the valve adjustment. I once saw a guy overtighten all of the valves, and guess what the compression was- 0 on all cylinders. After that, loosen the distributor bolts and have someone crank the car while you slowly turn the distributor back and forth, maybe the timing is just too far off.
