Anybody ever had limp mode w/ CEL 91?
From C-Speed: "Other more potentially harmful problems that the ECU detect will throw the car into what is called 'LIMP MODE' where the ECU instantly retards the timing and dumps an overly ambundant amount of fuel into the motor, robbing it of power so that one can still 'limp' the car home under power but limit the driver from causing any more damage. Problems such as MAP sensor malfunction, low oil or excess knock will send the ECU into Limp Mode."
Limp Mode sucks! It seems like somebody is messing with the car for amusement. That certainly wasn't a fun drive home.
My R just started doing this today, I'm taking it the dealership tomorrow since it is covered on warranty.
The code is CEL 91, Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor low input.
I do remember a WHILE back, maybe at 15,000 miles, that there was a CEL for my MAP sensor. The tech said that it was a common problem among 2000 Type Rs, but said it was fine and shouldn't worry about it. Hm, I wonder if it has any relation to the problem that I have now. Anybody ever have either of these problems?
The car currently has 40,000 miles on it and is a 2000, the only engine modifications are a CAI, Tanabe exhaust, and a sun grounding system.

I have the same problem, but mine due to a swap and not having a fuel tank pressure sensor at all. I am always rollin the code "91" and never feels like it stumbles or misses. My air-fuel ratio looks about normal but I got a gauge, not dyno tested. I also spray on code 91 and have never felt any ill effects(except my clutch slippin
) I heard you can use a JDM ecu and it does not even have that code, but I havent tried this yet.
