how much around did you pay for the parts to rebuild your eng? also can i get more info on a block guard and how many of you actually use it? thanks!

 

Psitons approx $450-$550, Rods Eagle Rods $350, Crower $650, Gaskets and bearings about $300(approx) No block guard, GE Block $845 shipped there and back and bored and honed with free sunking sleeves more money to spend on that(Sorry) Oil, Filter, Coolant etc etc, Assenbly lube, I got headwork done. I t all depends to what extent you go to. A simple rebuild rod sna d pitons and gaskets can be $1500 with machine work, just depends. I don't like block guards sorry.

 

Or you could blow a bunch of stock motors like i did, right boostfed...

 

so far:
10 bux for ls rods
free machine work on the rods (friend)
200 to machine crank and bearings
70 oil pump and rear main oil seal
block was free (d16 with no head)

left to do:
pistons 450
clutch 250 with throw out bearing
head gasket $?
mics $?

boostfed : you old setup... was that on stock sleeves?... and what do you think is a good decision point on whether or not to sleeve the block?... lemme know... thanks...

 

Ehhhhh he's going to tell you not to have GE doing your sleeving since his sleeves wound up in his oil pan or something
