D-Series ECU, Need Help
I have a 98 Civic Dx (d16y7) and I am wondering what is the best ECU for my car.
I have done a few things to the engine besides the basic I/H/E.
Should I go with the AEM Plug and Play, a Hondata, or should I just chip or reprogram my stock ecu.
And no, I do not want to swap my engine, so do not tell me to. When I am done with my single cam, I will get a DOHC.
I am still fairly new to this but would like to see what my DX can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what would happen if I used an EX (D16y8) ECU with vtec, on my DX (D16y7) which is non-vtec? Could I use an Integra LS (B18B) ECU since it is non-vtec?
Thanks

I just want to to get rid of my speed limiter or at least raise it a bit higher.
My rev limit is fine where its at. (I hit 7400 when I hit some ice the other day)

hondata and AEM I dont think will do you any good with your stock ECU. I did some reasearch once, and came up with nothing as far as adding to a DX ECU. You may be able to chip it believe.
the teg ucu will lower your rev limiter . Why do you want the speed limit removed? You will broblably have your driving privlidges removed shortly after that. I am sure your DX isnt doing 120 in the 1/4. Talk to mistbone or maybe emerica.
