Default Power Locks Not Working (Not Actuators)

Hi all

Got a 1999 EX civic with power locks. I cannot for the life of me get the locks to actuate. I think the drivers door one might be dead, but I checked both rear actuators with a 12v battery and they work fine.

My lock switch is broken, so I just used some wire to simulate pressing it. It makes the blue box in the door click but nothing happens to the actuators in the car.

Has anyone experienced something similar to this? I’m combing through threads but haven’t been able to figure this out yet

Have you checked the FSM to go through the testing process? I would start there, pretty sure there is a section about using multi-meter to test for stuff like this.

Was looking around but couldn’t find the procedure. Are you able to link it?

I linked it but mods removed the post because the FSM is copyrighted material apparently...? I'm asking about this.

Anyway, look on page 23-251 and scroll down from there. Door lock actuator test is on page 23-265.

Big time appreciate that, I didn’t know what I was looking for at all.

On another note, it turns out my driver actuator does work now. So I have 0 ideas what could be wrong with it. I have a feeling it’s wiring of some sort

Yeah starting to believe it’s this. Maybe a wire is open somewhere and killing the whole thing. No voltage seems to be going to the power lock actuator at all even when the switch is pressed.

Thankfully just bought a 1999 civic si that will come a temporary donor car to test some parts to double check everything!!

Appreciate the help and will report back when i figure it out

Reporting back to confirm this was it. Had a loose black wire in the door jam.

Soldered it and all power locks work now. Thank you!!
