Hey everyone! New here and new to engine DIY. I’ve changed oil and brakes on my vehicles for years, but anything under the hood has been a mystery—until now.
My neighbor gave me a beat-up 2002 Honda Accord SE, and my first “real” repair was a cracked coolant hose… naturally, the one behind the intake manifold.
I’m a doofus—while loosening the clamp, I ended up damaging the hose next to it. No clue what it is or how to replace it. Pic attached with a green arrow pointing to the hose I cracked. Any tips would be hugely appreciated!
You can’t see the crack in this picture, but I have no idea what hose this even is. Now I need to replace it as well.
The first thing to know is if the hose is "preformed" with bends and curves in it. If not you can use some bulk heater hose and replace it that way. If the former you will need to take the hose off the car and go to the dealer. See if the parts specialists can find the exact hose you need and if it is available anymore. They have diagrams to help with this. There are websites that you can do this yourself if you want to. I would start with the parts website at hondapartsnow.com . Once you get the Honda number, you can shop around for the best price. That's what I would do......Good Luck!

Thanks for the quick response. I think I might’ve lucked out on this one. It looks like it’s just a 3/16” vacuum hose that runs from a nipple on the back of the intake manifold to what I believe is the EVAP Purge Control Solenoid.
I outlined the component it connects to (in front of the intake manifold) in green. It seems to just fit on both ends—no clamps anywhere on it—so hopefully replacing it won’t be too bad.
