2023 CRV EX-L Updates to System Drain Battery, TSB?
Hello all, newbie here...
2023 CRV EX-L (still under factory warranty)
(A). I have some Bluetooth paring issues (which I'll discuss in another thread) and in an attempt to resolve the problem as suggested by Honda In-Car Technology Support, we tried a factory data reset which didn't help.
They also suggested a system update which I tried via the Wi-Fi in my house and everything went black on all screens. I left things alone overnight assuming it was "updating" and the next day the battery was dead.
I called Honda Roadside and got a jump. I started the car a few times and the next day I drove to the dealer who checked everything out OK including the battery and I went on my merry way.
(B). Two months later I was on the phone with SiriusXM on an unrelated problem, they sent the radio a refresh and all screens when black and the car wouldn't start, but it wasn't completely dead (doors unlocked, lights came on as if normal). The next day it still LOOKED normal but wouldn't start so I called Honda Roadside again, got a jump but this time had it towed to the dealer.
The dealer checked everything again but this time the battery failed a test so they replaced it under warranty. It has been fine so far but I'm terrified if it auto updates or SiriusXM sends a system wide refresh like they do on occasion, I'll have a dead car.
My question is has anybody had a similar issue with a 2023 CRV and is there a TSB out there on this issue about which I'm not being told?
Did my attempts to back out of the black screens by pushing the Engine Start Stop Button on and off or trying to start the car screw things up?
I also don't understand why with situation (B), a SiriusXM refresh would pull down the whole system even IF the battery was weak.
Feel free to ask any questions and thanks in advance for any insight anyone can provide!!
