Replacing the shift **** after mine came off due to loose screws. No broken parts. When I install the **** it shifts from park to reverse with the button but from reverse down to 2nd **** doesn’t need to be engaged. I installed the **** with that lock out switch (above the park letter) pushed down. This does allow the shaft to go down another 1/4” or so and the allow the **** and holes to align. Once back in park and engine turned Off the key cannot be removed . Somehow there is too much preload on that center shaft with the **** installed.
