Help with removing a stock shift **** in a 99 Civic Si
I bought my girlfriend a Type R shift **** and when I go to remove her factoiry shift **** the shift boot is connected to it and just turns with the shift ****. Has anyone ever had to do this and what did you do to get the shift boot to un-latch from the factory shift ****?
Help guys so I can surprise her with this when she gets in her car the next time she drives!!!!

Re: Help with removing a stock shift **** in a 99 Civic Si (Gump)
So it should just pull down and pop off the bottom of the shift ****? I don't want to tear the shift boot and have to replace that too........I will eventually for her with a Civic Type R shift boot but until then I want to keep her stock one in a good looking condition.
