I’ve had this issue for many years, after being hit in the passenger front fender. During the repair, my car was heavily damaged by a severe hailstorm, so when that was fixed, I don’t know what body panels were removed/ replaced. so I think the issue could be a pinched wire somewhere, but don’t know where to start.
When the car gets into VTEC, the trunk lid open light will flicker, and then usually stay on. If I get into it again, I can make it flicker again, and time it right to go back off. It’s annoying as hell, and I’d love to get it addressed. It’s a pretty strange issue, and I hope someone has a wiring schematic, or somewhere I can look for damage to the wiring (assuming this is what’s happening). I can try to get a video if that would help.
Please let me know if anyone has experienced this, or if you have any ideas where I can start looking for the issue.
