I want to be able to provide aftermarket replacement ICUs for Canadians. I need help from owners of fourth gen Canadian Civics. I have found a discrepancy between the Canadian wire diagram in the Honda Service Manual and the actual cars sold in Canada. I have only have a sample set of two, but neither car matched the diagram in the Service Manual. I need to increase the size of my sample set so I can be confident that the ICUs will interface correctly with Canadian Civics.
You don’t need to take anything apart; I just need a picture like this one of the connector at the ICU.
You can pretty easily take a picture like this using the front facing camera on your cell phone. Here is a YouTube video showing how I took this picture.
If I could get a sample set of 15 or 20 different Canadian Civics I would feel a lot more confident in my conclusion that the Service Manual is incorrect.
The connector can handle up to 10 wires, the question is; Do pins 6 and 7 have wires connected to them or not? The service manual says there are wires. There is always a GRN/BLK wire at pin 4, pin 5 is always empty. Pin 6 & 7 are the positions in question. The wire diagram says 6 is connected to a GRN/RED wire and 7 is connected to a GRN/WHT wire. Here is a picture of one actual Canadian connector. (In this picture the clip is on the reverse side)
As you can see there are no connections to 6 or 7. If you can’t take the picture or it is too difficult to post the picture, it would still be helpful if you could tell me whether or not those wires exist on your fourth gen Canadian Civic. I put a bit more faith in a picture but any input would be helpful.
I can simplify the question further. If there is a wire coming out of either one of the two holes directly behind the clip (5 or 6) then it matches the Service Manual. If neither of the two holes behind the clip have a wire then it matches the other Canadian Civics I have seen. This way you don’t need to know what number hole it is because hole 5 will never have a wire so if either one of the two holes behind the clip has a wire it is hole 6. Because 6 is for the left and 7 is for the right there would never be a case where a wire exists in 6 but not 7 so I don’t actually need to confirm if there is a wire in hole 7.
What I really wish I could get is some sort of official documentation that confirms the error in the Service Manual.

That picture is perfect! If that is a CRX built for the Canadian market (not a US car imported to Canada) then, that one picture is all I need to prove that Canadian CRXs and Civics are NOT all wired the same way at the ICU, which is disappointing to me because it means I need to somehow know which version of the wiring a person has before I can get them a compatible ICU.
Do you happen to remember/know how your front corner lights behave? Do they blink with the turn signals or not? I'm looking for an easy way to recognize/determine which way the ICU is wired up in each car. Which of these stickers is on your CRX?
Yes it's a Canadian car. I do not have a sticker but still similar have a metal tag riveted on. Nothing that would be helpful to you though.
The coner lights beside the headlights do not blink with the turn signals, just the lower front face bumper lights.
Sorta dumb that they did that so I wired in CRX si-r side marker lights in the fenders that are wire tapped into the front face bumper lights so not to get in an accident because originally you can't see from they side for oncoming vehicles..
