Hello I have a 1995/6 EK3 Honda Civic hatchback EURO. I want to get a different/updated head unit, but with the current tutorials I have seen on youtube and some forums when they moved the climate controls to the bottom (just under the lighter and ash tray), in my opinion looks like 💩.
So I'm curious if anyone has switched controls from another trim/year? Is it even possible to do that? First picture is my current one and the 2nd is the one I'm thinking on switching over if its possible.
You basically want to do a double DIN conversion. The dash is actually different for the double DIN. Mounts differently. I know this because I have a dash thats for double DIN, but with a single DIN fitted. Mounting bracket isn't there.
Replacing the air conditioning from manual to automatic doesn't only involve replacing the control panel.
You also need to replace the air ducts, because they are of a different shape, modify the wiring harnesses and install additional temperature sensors.
The easiest way to do this would be to have the entire dashboard with the heater and wiring. Like the one in the Honda Civic VI EM1, for example.
