Starter Motor Engagment Problem
IM currently duing a K24 swap (2004 TSX engine) on my Pontiac Fiero and im currently trying to get th engine run on the stand before putting it in the car.
Ive run into a big issue when trying to get the engine to turn over. The starter will engage like it normally would, but it wont stay engaged. It will dissengage, then will quickly reengage, and will repeat like a jack hammer, and will repeatetly slam into the flkywheel. im afraid of damaging something. Mind you this is both a brand new starter and flywheel. Ive run the starter without the flywheel and it will spin with no issues.
Ive heard it could be the battery but im using a GM battery which supplies 750 crank amps which is well over the TSX recommended crank amps. Could this cause issues?
Ive also redone the wiring multiple times to see if my wiring was bad but nothing has changed.
Ive consulted the K20a Forums with no luck.
heres a slow motion video of whats happening.
