TIMING MARKS OFF PLEASE HELP
Hi i am doing a head gasket repair , timing belt completely broke off, i am able to get crank to TDC , but i am unable to get one of the heads timed correctly the mark on the gear is off by 180 degrees , when i get it to line up the valves are poking out a lot and then it jumps 4-6 teeth i can attach pictures as well , to my. knowledge the cam is at TDC but timing marks don't match up need advice or if there is something wrong or if i have to replace the cams as well
/ i uploaded pictures for reference , the white marks are where the marks should line up, these pictures all came from the same head (V6 J35 engine) i removed the head to attempt to turn the timing manually and they are off by that many teeth about 40 degrees off but its either off to the left or to the right , and in once picture i was able to line up the lines but the valves are popping out , just want to know where i go from here or next steps thank you in advance for who ever comes and saves the day
