Need Advice On How 2009 Accord Rear Caliper Functions With E-Brake
I ended up replacing both rear calipers on my 2009 Accord and I wanted to see how the emergency brake was activated (up to this point the e-brake handle wouldn't budge) so I played with the new calipers on the bench before installing them. It looks to me like the piston incrementally ratchets out when the lever is actuated by the e-brake cable but what I don't understand is how does it allow the piston to retract back into the bore? It seems like this design would prematurely wear out the brake pads. What am I missing?
