D16z6 build questions
I have a 1993 del sol si with an aftermarket exhaust and suspension. I want to know what the easiest and cheapest performance upgrades are. I dont want to run 8 second quarter miles, I just want it to be somewhat quick, and not compromise the reliability. Might turbo in the future if I dont have an eg or ek hatch by the time I want more speed. It will eventually just be a weekend cruiser, and not a track car. Thanks
To help make it somewhat quick, you could probably find a used jackson racing supercharger for maybe $1000 or less. Run 7psi for reliability.
Just need some bigger saturated injectors, 550cc or smaller and a good tuner. You have the good chip/tune-able P28 ecu already so not a whole lot needed. Maybe under 2k and you could be rippin it up. A good turbo set up will cost more.
Any bolt-ons will not satisfy and are minimal gains.. If you want some more go power, the supercharger is probably your best bet.

Yeah, you have the cheap stuff already. The JRSC will be a decent bump if you can find a complete, solid kit. You will not need really big fuel injectors since you will only be adding about 45 or 50 wheel HP (do NOT use RC 550's with a JRSC... other brands in that size would be acceptable). You can even use the stock fuel injectors (or for a bit of additional safety, use a set of '97-01 Prelude fuel injectors). Tunable engine management will be required.
