1991 Honda Civic D15b1
Sooooo yeah, the worst happened today on my way to work. My head gasket went bye bye. So I'm in the process of a rebuild and want to know if you guys know of a rebuild kit that is good. I see a few of them but don't know which to get.. Also is there a way I can bore out my cylinders to install bigger pistons into the block. I looked around but couldn't find anyone who have done it to a D15b1. I know, I know, I can swap another engine and just put it in but kinda on a budget, also there isnt engines for sale in my area aswell. Thank you for the help!!!
they have a few option(s) available ;
cheque machine shop(s) on the work that can be done to the block that you have ( hopefully no crack(s) )
or
source out a replacement block with better performance

If your on a budget, your going over your head with the thought of going to a bigger piston in that engine. Not worth it! Any gain would be minimal with anything you do to it other than adding a power adder - Nos/boost..
No d series is going to make power/torque that will be really noticeable unless you add a power adder^..
IMO Your best money spent being penny wise is to buy a Haynes manual or service manual that will be your bible for your car.
Parts - a head gasket that is preferably OEM or what-ever name brand from local auto parts store (not a no name ebay brand), timing belt kit - belt, tensioner, water pump for that d series AND a good quality torque wrench..
Use caution and be careful -Clean the combustion chamber of the head with the valves in a closed position (remove the cam or leave it assembled and rotate until they close) using a small wire brush also you might need to "chisel off" carbon build up mainly on the faces of exhaust valves with a flat head screwdriver. The intake valves clean up fairly easy. Wash off with brake clean or carb cleaner.. Have the head resurfaced at a machine shop or if your a super cheapo 3rd world country do the flat block and sand paper lol jk and make sure the block deck is cleaned spotless.
Slap that biitch back together and carry on..
