Can you deactivate the 2024 Honda prologue, ambient engine noise?
My wife just got a prologue and within eight hours she can’t stand the fake engine noise. I’ve looked all over the manual the Internet and cannot find how to disable it or even reduce the volume. I understand that it is a Chevy EV platform, but couldn’t find anything on their website explaining how to reduce the noise either. I’m afraid if we don’t find a solution within the next couple of days we are going to return this car.
It is a safety feature that is required by DOT.
Simply explained, it alerts blind people that a vehicle is moving.
Turn the music up a bit, or give it some time and you won’t notice it anymore.

also, I mean no offense, but to say just deal with it or just turn the music up, that’s not productive, unless you’re in a communist country 😆 we will see more complaints coming about this. It would just be nice if it was a little more quiet
I read the laws and understand the need. Maybe it’s just our car but it is very loud.

The tradeoff is you have no engine noise. Trust me, give it some time. Once you drive the vehicle around for a few months, and go back to an ICE vehicle, you'll see how much quieter the vehicle is, overall.
Unplugging the speaker could open you up to liability issues. As an alternative, you could try putting some tape over the speaker to reduce the volume a bit.
its on the front bumper on the corner. it kinda has these baffles to make it work like a horn.
im not sure if it senses the ohm on it to make sure it is connected, but i am sure it would stop working if someone were to decide to disconnect it.
with it off, you can actually hear the electric motor noises which sounds kinda cool.... like a BART train.
