Default 2017 CRV - Code P0456 with Smoke Test

Hi,

I started to perform a smoke test on Vapor Canister Purge Valve which has three hose lines going to it. I disconnected the valve on the top of the engine bay and first put smoke through the hose that is connected underneath the purge valve. I could not see smoke anywhere besides by the charcoal canister at the very end connected to Fuel Box Drain.

The next line I pushed smoke through was going towards the engine and that pushed smoke out of the Upper Cover of the air filter with no smoke being seen anywhere else.

I have a couple questions from this...

1. Does that seem right that one hose line underneath the purge valve would end directly at the box drain and go no further than that?

2. The last hose line on the purge valve I did not get to do yet because it was getting too late and too dark so I will do it either tomorrow or on the weekend. My question is should that be the line that goes all the way to the Fuel Filler cap? Which seems to be a known problem with the P0456 code. Something with the flaps not sitting right.

3. My understanding is the vents solenoid has to be closed and I understand these tests can be done through the computer. Did it have to be closed for the first two hoses I checked (the one going to the box drain and the one going on top of the air filter) or is it just for the third line that I haven't checked yet? That's where some confusion is coming in because I'm not sure if I checked the first two lines correctly since I didn't close the vents solenoid (I just pushed smoke through the two lines).

The third line I still have to do is from the Vapor Canister Purge Valve is the line in the back that looks like it is going into the firewall. Is that the line I have to close the vent solenoid for in order for it to go all the way to the gas fill piece?

Blue circle: My first test from the hose connected underneath and this is the one where the smoke went all the way to the box drain underneath the car on the passenger's side coming off of the charcoal canister.

Red circle: The second smoke test I did was the one that pushed smoke to the top of the air filter cover.

Green circle: Is the one I still have to do and the I'm wondering if that's the one that I need to close the vent solenoid on and should go back to the fuel fill

Any help or information is very appreciated. Thank you.
