Default 2004 CRV starter, issues

After car sits, can turn key and no noise, clicking, etc.
Turn off and back on it will start ,sometimes on and off 2 or 3 times success.
Thanks

Probably the starter. I had same issue with my 04 Element. Get the battery checked out as well.

Thanks, not sure if this can cause, but did get error codes checked out.Knock sensor ,I had a backfire and believe I fixed it with finding a loose vacuum hose on breather near air filter. So Wonder if a bad sensor would cause a very intermittent issue like this. But definitely think it is a starter issue

Knock sensor error has no influence on the starter. They are right next to each other. Might be wise to replace the knock sensor while you are in there replacing the starter.

Thanks Ryan
I'm unable to do much repair work anymore.definitely appreciate that tip,as that was helpful!
Another stupid question ,is hate to take car to shop ,I'm in a small town and tell them to replace starter,is their a precise way for a good mechanic, assuming I find one available to confirm a bad intermittent starter ,I have no clue?
Thanks y'all 4 the advice
