Default H22a4 motor build tips

I bought a 98 prelude with a cracked head that I plan on rebuilding, does anyone have any good upgrades to make the engine even more reliable? I don't really care to push more power but I really like to BEAT on my cars, I've heard a lot about sleaving the block, would that be worth it? Any comments are appreciated, I mainly deal with civics so this is the first h series I've built

I personally grew up around more of the eg/gsr/ls/b20v. never had a prelude, but I do have buddies. There was a lot of hush hush on this very topic when they were still under development yrs. ago which is wild. As of Today, not a lot of ppl talk about it either, that being said Honda engines in that era of the franchise... let's talk real talk... B series, F and H series were all interchangeable back in the 90's. there are adapter plates modified to go the h2b..which is h series onto b series trans. There is a lot more to talk about all of this discussion because 2024 sucks. and nobody is on Honda forums anymore it seems. That was my rant I am new here to the forums but been reading stuff on here back around 2008. The F series I believe was the Nastiest motor of ALL time in the era the F22 or F23.

F22C1
  • Rod Length: 149.65 mm (approximately 5.892 in)
  • Rod/stroke ratio: approximately 1.6499:1
  • Power: USDM 240 hp (179 kW; 243 PS) at 7,800 rpm; 162 lb⋅ft (220 N⋅m) at 6,500 rpm [5] (revised to 237 hp (177 kW; 240 PS) at 7,800 rpm in 2005 per SAE Certified Power standard) [6]
  • Rev limit: 8,200 rpm
  • VTEC: "6,000 rpm" [3]

That is the S2000 engine... it has absolutely NOTHING in common with your big single-cam Accord engine... except for the letter "F" in the engine code. You need to be reading up on the H22 (or F20B if you are on a budget) because that is the closest engine family to what you have now, and thus, the easiest to transition to in your chassis.

All I know there is interchangeable parts from k/h/f to h2b to f2h etc. I'm trying to come up with something different. I have lots to ramble about currently have a sleeved lsv sleeved. b series. I was reading articles of them running a 100mm crank on them but was looking into other cranks that will work. I was never in the H series and F. Mainly the acuras and civics.
