Default Low idle after Hondata basemap

I have a 97 del sol with a y7 and a skunk 2 im/tb. I just picked up my odb1 ecu with hondata from Rcautoworks. My car idles at about 500rpms cold and after plugging in the new ecu it was idling even lower and surging between 100-300 rpms. Is there a way with Hondata to set my idle higher but that wouldnt fix the surge would it? I am completely new to tuning and hondata so I would appreciate any advice!

Make sure you dont have a leak still. Connect and open up smanager. Open up the parameters tab. Click on idle, set you rpm, then save and upload

Did you rewire things to go from a 3 wire to 2 wire iacv?

I actually just blocked off the iacv because when I did the skunk 2 swap I didnt have hondata. Would there be anyway to work around that or should I just wire up the 2 wire now that Im obd1?

Yeah you need the 2 wire iacv if you want to control the idle. You can get the iacv from a manual d16y8 or an obd1 civic/sol. If you really like you can change the idle screw on the throttle body, but it wont be able to compensate for weather or anything without the iac.

Also don't forget to press ctrl u, to apply changes when using the hondata. That stumped me for a while lol

So just to clarify I can’t use the set idle function on hondata without a properly wired in iacv? Ill probably just grab one from the junkyard then.

You blocked off the IACV port yet you want to control the idle speed electronically with the Hondata system ??? I suggest you seek professional tuning help. Remember that you will need to remove the block off plate, install a proper IACV, wire it up properly and connect it BEFORE you take it in for tuning.
