Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
Never changed pcv..assume it only feeds front bank?
came out very easy..does not click on shaking…brakleen barely makes noise shaking.
the orings appear to be completely ineffective and flat as plastc..its not sealing anything.
maybe the issue? Will buy new one Monday and see..
thanks for any input or direction on noise too.
Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
New Pcv in place does not appear to be the issue. However, when I start it and let it idle while I’m looking around all the way past full warm-up, there was zero smoke, and then out of the blue. It starts to smoke.
it is definitely using oil and it’s only using oil in the front bank. Even when I pulled the plugs out to review again, there was actually some smoke coming out of one of the open holes number four.
what could possibly cause the front bank to only use oil is there something in the head that could cause that again runs fine zero misfires no coolant loss.
the exhaust has a very bad smell. I’m sure it’s burning oil, but it’s mostly white steam oil, but the smell is weird it’s not gassy it’s not oily. It’s kind of a burnt catalytic smell
I think the noise could be my timing belt so I’m gonna try to replace that and wait for my camera to come to review the cylinders but what could possibly be causing oil usage on number 45 and six front bank only.
I’m not discounting major problems, but I find it very highly odd that it happened pretty quick, and only in the front bank that is possibly related to the head or the components or something .
I would understand a cylinder or 2..
appreciate any advice
45 and six again I had swapped them with one, two and three, that were very good looking plugs, and of course the front bank has oil on them
Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
Thought i could see something on stem seals. Nothing, no pieces or other signs. Plugs black and wet..oil pouring in all 3 front cylinders. Mane camera will tell tale

Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
Noted smoke out of #4 especially..after reviewing camera on larger screen.. maybe obvious 26 secnd mark a puddle and 40 second marks dripping down cylinders?? Has to be valve seals assumed.
also anyone tips tricks v6 using this lisle tool without removing head to change seals? Seen plenty of 4 cylinder heads on engine..appreciate tips
Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
Well got one in..that tool is not effective at installation but removes easy.. manifold does have to come off even for front bank. keep end bolts in lower rocker arm as springs will come out if not.. doing #4..using compressed air ..but valve chief still dropped when pushing or hammering tool..only drops an inch and easily pulled up. oreillys about valve spring compressor too big as spring area tight..
is there a better tool? You wont get hammer or good push on exhaust if it did work. Something that attaches to bolts from rocker shaft maybe? seals came out fair..new ones slipped on easily..they look larger worn out so hoping thats the issue..
thoughts?
Re: 07 ridgelne noise and oil blowing advice please
well all seals replaced.. quite tricky..used plastic paint brush and tools to align.. no change smoke.. she had a good run.. off to carmax.. must have been rings? nothing else makes sense..weird they gave up so fast..
maybe i will be back with the 3rd gen RL? i will miss the best vehicle i ever had.. it did it all.. the only downside.. fuel economy..
