I have been having some misfire problems according to the scanner. It doesn't trigger a CEL and wasn't able to exactly figure out what was going on. I did all the normal items: plugs, coils, and injectors. The misfires were random but I have finally found out a way to reproduce it most of the time.

I was able to reproduce the misfire by very lightly tapping the throttle during idle. During the light tap, the rpm would only go up about 100-200rpm but the misfire counter would go up 1-2. Also there are times when it misfires and the rpm doesn't move up.

Do you guys have any idea what can be wrong in such an instance? The car is completely stock and compression/leakdown numbers are very good. I am guessing it's something with the fuel because the occurence of misfires went down quite a bit after switching out the injectors during normal driving before I was able to reproduce the misfires.

 

does the car behave any differently? does it feel like your engine engine is shaking worse than normal? are you hearing audible spurts during acceleration? some misfires are completely normal if you're logging with a pro scanner/tuner. You should only be concerned if you see a CEL
