2001 accord v6 coupe brake light not working. Not fuse/bulb
My sister has a 2001 accord v6 coupe. She got a fix it ticket today and called me over to take a look. All the brake lights are out. The two on the side, the spoiler and the back(behind the rear window). When you turn the light on, the two on the side turns on like normal.
I inspected all the fuses that could be an issue, the one in the driver's side panel and the box under the hood.
Since it was cold outside and I didn't have any tools with me I was limited with what I can do. She is going to drop off the car later today so I can look at it in my garage.
Going to go though all the fuses again but anything else I should check or inspect?

1. With the exception of the high mount brake lamp, the other bulbs for the tail light/brake light are dual filament (one filament for the brake light and another filament for the tail light). Did you actually check the bulbs instead of just turning on the headlight switch?
2. If it isn't the bulbs, then check to see if the stopper pad is still attached where the brake pedal position switch is located.

I checked one of the bulb and it still looked good. I didn't check the rest because what are they he chance of all of them dying at the same time.
I will take a look at the brake switch.
I will take a look at the brake switch.
Got the car this morning. To make the long story short it was the brake light switch. She was still able to drive it because she put a plastic spoon in the emergency release next to the shifter to bypass the safety lock.
The rubber garment or gasket that people seems to have issue with falling off was still there. After adjusting it for a bit I was able to get the brake light working again and get the car out of park. I tested it a couple time and most of the time I was able to get it out of park without any issue with the working brake lights. But there would be random times that it would be stuck in park and the brake light won't work as well. I would say about 4/5 times it would work. But since she got a fix it ticket, she needs it to work 100% of the time. I am not sure if something is just missed aligned or if the switch is faulty or if there is a short somewhere that is causing this to happen randomly.
I ordered a new switch from amazon and should come in tomorrow. For those who found this post in a search the switched that I ordered is "Beck/Arnley Stop Light Switch - 201-1780" for about $27 on amazon. I will give an update once I get it installed.
