Icon5 Introduction/question (1992 Civic Hatch)

Hey guys, My name is Marco and I'm from Massachusetts. I recently came into whats basically one of my dream cars, maybe not as it sits but I can get it where I want it to me. Anyways, I bought the car and it was marketed to me as a VX Hatch. I know a little bit about some of the differences between the engines and whatnot but when I got the car home I went looking for an o2 sensor. Couldn't find out which one to get but basically the car was not a VX because I checked the engine and it was a D15B8. Okay so its a CX no biggie, except its not a CX. You see, the problem is that I ran the vin through several sites and it keeps coming up as a DX but that's a D15B7 engine.

Full Shot of the car.

As you can see, it's a D15B8 as opposed to the B7 that's supposed to be in a DX.

Interior Photo with swapped seats and a junk steering wheel (bought the car that way).

Photo of the car from the back.

So basically what the heck is going on? I bought the car for several reasons aside from it being one of my dream cars, it has no power seats, no power mirrors, no power windows, but I don't know how to tell if it has power steering or not. When I drive it, it feels like there isn't any PS but I can't tell for sure. I know that there was some kind of assist feature but it's supposed to kick in when the car starts rolling. To me, I don't think It does. I want to confirm with you guys and figure out what could be going on. The engine had to have been replaced at some point for the one that's in it now. Any help is 100% appreciated.

I'm no help regarding model spec's but you'd spot belt-driven power steering pump pretty easily on left side of car, top front of engine, if it had one. Probably unlikely without electric windows & mirrors?
Look like DC2/4 Integra frt seats.
If engine were swaped it's still possible other/original d15 intake/exhaust way have been used?

It's a 31 year old car from the tuner scene. It's probably had a few engines in it by now.

It very well could have been a VX originally but none were black. Probably had paint work and probably had at least one B series at some point.

Looking closer, the rear wiper and the side moulding were not a CX or VX trim. No sunroof so probably not an SI. Likely a DX.

But anything is possible in 31 years.

If the vin comes back dx then its a dx.
Open your hood and look for power steering, how hard is that?

The car HAS been repainted and it’s a botched job
at that. I’m not expecting perfection but at the same time, a little transparency would’ve been nice. Doesn’t matter really since I’ll eventually swap it out for a B16A or a B18C. I’d have to do a trans swap too so it won’t be for a while.

Idk where I would find power steering since I don’t usually mess with cars. This is the first time I’ve done anything to the car aside from topping off the oil.

If you look at the steering rack in the area just below the brake master cylinder/booster, a power steering rack will have multiple lines/hoses coming out of it... or maybe they have been removed leaving threaded holes in the rack... or maybe the lines have been cut and "looped" to seal off the holes in order to keep dust and debris out of the rack. A manual rack will be smooth in the same area.

Remember it is not uncommon for various owners to modify a vehicle through years of ownership. This vehicle is thirty years old... it should come as no surprise to you that there are incongruencies in what this vehicle came with stock and what it has now... especially since many owners cannot afford to properly maintain them, so the "fix" ends up being the cheapest parts that will get the car back up and running ASAP.
