2001 Honda CRV - LED dome lights & map light project
I converted the dome lights and map lights to LED. Much brighter than stock. I made my own boards and used 5050 LED chips. step 1 remove from vehicle step 2, trace a cardboard cutout that will fit step 3, scan the cutout into CAD, and use a ruler for calibration. step 4, add your necessary features step 5- print out your CAD, and check it. Make necessary adjustments. Rinse and repeat... Once you get a good working design that you have confidence in, add your electrical parts to the design. step 6 Convert your components to traces - I "mirror" image it because I print on a special paper that allows me to invert it as I heat press it onto copper clad

i print out my designs backwards on a special paper after prepping my copper clad step 7 - I use a heatpress to transfer the toner to the boards after a successful heat press transfer step 8 - I use a 3:1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide and muriatic acid to etch the boards. The solution eats all the copper that isn't protected by the toner. step 9 - I cut out the boards with a band saw, and do all of my machining work. After I have good results I wipe off the toner with laquer thinner step 10 - I chemically change the copper to tin, with a solution called "liquid tin". This helps protect the boards and the components solder on easier

step 11 - adding the LEDs and resistors step 12 - install and enjoy Here I made a bracket for the map light PCBs so it can mount onto a flat surface. I designed this in CAD and I 3D printed on high temp ABS
