2007 Acura RDX Starting Issue, Etc.
I just purchased a used RDX yesterday. Had no issues driving it around and home yesterday. This morning, it wouldn't start. No turning over, just lights on the dash. I eventually got the starter to work and the engine fired up. I hear this is a common issue with these vehicles. When I went home from work, no starting issues. Fired up every time. It does turn over a little slower at the start. I decided to order in a new starter and ignition switch just to be safe. I also replaced the battery in my current key fob, and ordered a new aftermarket key fob to rule that out. Sometimes the door doesn't open on the first button press, but after a couple presses. Im wondering if my remote is wearing out? I also have a spare key with no buttons, but it will start the engine, as I tested that today. So it has the chip in it. I dont know if the security immobilizer is failing, but its one thing on the list I havent done anything about yet. Is there anything I should still do at this point? I keep wondering if it is something simple? I havent been stranded yet, but Im concerned one time out on the road I might be. I'll check it again tomorrow when I drive to work, to see if the non start happens again. It did sit overnight last time. Battery looks new in the vehicle and somehow the tech squeezed a 24R Acura battery in there, when a 35 should have been used.
Will the CD changer in this vehicle play burned CDs done on a computer? Or does it need to be legit store bought CDs? I haven't tried out the stereo yet.
When programming your new key fob, do all the previous programmed keys need to be inside too, or will it remember those codes when adding the new key fob?
