Icon4 Vtec solenoid VS vvt solenoid. k20a3

I apologize if this seems like a stupid question but I have do e loads of research and cant seem to find a straight answer. I drive an 05 si hatch (the EP3) k20a3 and a couple of months ago i replaced my vtec solenoid gasket because it was leaking oil. A few days ago (2 months after i chaged the gasket) my friend said something about not messing with the solenoid because it would screw up my timing. however none of the research i did and videos I watched before doing the job said anything about timing.

I do not think the vtec solenoid would have anything to do with timing, that would be the vvt solenoid correct?

So after gathering this information i thought it would be a good idea to make sure it was actually the vtec solenoid gasket that i replaced and not the vvt. I cannot find anything about the vvt on my EP3 which makes me think the vtec solenoid may actually be a part of the timing.

After reading the explanation of my thought process i was hoping someone could point me in a direction from here.
1. does the vtec solenoid have anything to do with timing
2. if it does should i get my timing done
3. if it does not have anything to do with timing why can i not find anything in the vvt for the 05 ep3

My car has just over 200,000 miles and im trying to navigate these waters in the most mechanically sound way possible

1. Simply removing the VTEC assembly and replacing the gasket/screen will NOT affect the timing of the engine.
2. Your engine is coil on plug... there is no distributor to "set the timing" as you have stated.
3. VVT is a Toyota term... VTEC is the Honda term. Basically, this simply means that at a certain engine RPM, a mechanical oil pressure system opens a fluid pathway that alters the rocker arm orientation and switches from the low-lift, short duration cam lobes to the performance "high lift", long overlap/duration cam lobes.

The VTC assembly also advances/retards the intake camshaft for optimum performance at all engine rpm and load values.
