Hey guys, I recently purchased a 1997 civic LX and when I took it for inspection it failed because the airbag light doesnt turn on when you start the car along with other minor fixes i've taken care of. The tachometer also sometimes does a 360 or thinks 0 is 4k rpms. Before i rip out the cluster and try to figure it out i was hoping for some guidance on diagnosing, I'm not new to working on cars but im new to honda, is there some software like INPA or a parts diagram like realoem (i found https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/cross/honda/ but it doesnt have 97). I have the cable that i used on my 01 325i and i was hoping i could use it on this car as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Noticed the lights in the dash wouldn't fully illuminate at night and replaced all the light bulbs in the cluster with LEDs airbag light was blown along with some others. It was hard to pop the airbag light circuit out from the cluster but I managed by pulling the plastic bit on the left to the side without breaking it and sliding it out.
Now the CEL light and SRS light stay on. Not sure if I should try to use a scanner from O'Reillys or if I should just jump the circuit and reset it and see if it goes away still haven't found any diagnostic software like inpa to read modules but I assume that there aren't any to ready anyway will update if I find solution

Edit there's a code for when the light circuit breaks a simple reset fixed the problem

 

There is a way to re set the Air bag light, I did it on my civic hatch back once. Try searching it on google
