Take it to Honda. Maybe something is wrong with your Airbag. Should be free, since its a safety feature.

I remember there being a really informative post on this a while back with pictures and all that. Do a search as mentioned before.

I just had to do it to my EP, so your fuse box might look a lil different from the one below. But u get an Idea.
It is a yellow connector with two wires in it that is plugged into the fuse box, unplug it and pull it down. Once you have done that you can begin the process of erasing the memory. NOTE: This will only reset your SRS System if what caused it to trigger has been fixed, Ex: turning the ignition on with any SRS Plugs disconnected, such as pulling your seat out.
1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug,
2nd Turn Ignition on. SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.
4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.
5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.
6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal. You have reset your SRS light, congrats.

Re: how do u get rid of the srs light in a 97 civic (lilredridinghood)
try having it done at a honda dealer, safety-related devices are usually replaced free of charge and with free labor, after the parts department has inspected the defect. i have an 89 accord with a frayed seatbelt that they are going to replace free of charge, but they sure as hell scrutinized it first.
be careful though...some shady dealers will try to blame any and every aftermarket thing you've added as the cause of the SRS light staying on, from aftermarket seats, to changing the horn, you name it. especially if you're off the factory warranty. it gets shadier too....after telling corporate about the part they are replacing due to warranty, the dealership gets the part free from them, and then they charge the customer for parts and labor (if it even is a faulty part.) money in their pockets.

Put electrical tape over the light, inside the cluster.

Unplug the connector that feeds the bulb directly behind the guage cluster. I put in a non-srs steering wheel. It was my easiest option.

Why not just take out the bulb?
Totalled my integra 3 times, twice in front, once in back, airbag never deployed. My civic went under a Suzuki Esteem cuz it was too low, no airbag deployment. Took my airbags out and sold them on e-bay.

you really dont need a scs connector all you need to do is jump the wires in the connector that all the scs connecter is a jumper connector if you really want a scs connecter it is about 7-10 dollars at honda and air bags only have the 3yr 36,000 mile coverage

a metal wire conductor is fine; i reset mine last week w/ a pice of staple, bent in a u shape.
seriously it's easier than unpluging your battery terminal.
