2006 Civic Hard Shift Auto Trans
2006 Civic EX Auto Trans 132K
Just purchased this car 2 months ago. The first thing I did was change the trans fluid (3 changes, no metal), oil, plugs and pass engine mount. Car ran great for 2K miles. The other night while coming home from work, the trans starts shift hard (really hard) from first to second and will not go into third. Got it home and pulled a P0756 code. The next day I cleared the code and take it for a drive to see if if the same code happens. Car drives perfect. No hard shift or code. Could it just have been a stuck solenoid? Computer reset? Thanks in advance.

The P0756 code indicates that the hard shift could be caused by shift solenoid B. The shift solenoid regulates the transmission fluid's flow in the transmission, and a stuck solenoid can lead to a hard shift.
Clearing the code and taking the car for a spin may have freed the solenoid and returned it to functioning properly. But, this may only be a short-term solution, and the issue may recur in the future.

Thanks for the reply Lanee.
Well after driving the car for two days without issue, now I get a check engine light and blinking “D”. Get home and pull a P0847 Pressure Switch B but no P0756. Car is still shifting fine. I read that this combo can be caused by a faulty pressure switch and not a mechanical issue. The fluid looks fine.
