Side break lights not working 2006 Civic hybrid
Hi all,
I'm a little stumped here. My side break lights are not coming on, but the center bar break light works fine. The break lights are just the rear headlights that become brighter when you break, and I checked every bulb and they are fine. Then I thought it might be a break switch or fuse issue, but there are no dedicated break fuses. I checked every fuse related to lighting anyway and they are all fine. I replaced the break switch and the same issue occurs. I thought maybe there was some corrosion on the male plug for the break switch, so I got a new one from a scrap yard and soldered it on, but the exact same issue occurs. No lateral break lights.
I have searched about online trying to figure out if it could be a computer issue, but I can't find anything. I tried resetting the ECU anyway, but no dice.
I'm really confused. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Thanks!
Mike

Have you check the bulbs? They are dual filament bulbs; one filament is used for the tail light and the other filament is used for the brake light.
Bulb No. 7443 is a dual filament bulb.

Hm, I replaced both bulbs but I didn't see a dual filament, I wonder if the parts store sold me the wrong one. Thanks, I will buy a couple of 7443s and give it a try.
Well, that's embarrassing. It was the bulbs, I guess the parts store sold me the monofilament version and I didn't realize so I ended up doing a ton of extra work for nothing.
Oh well! It works now, thanks so much @tech8
