Please help with some issues I have with a 1990 CB7:
- Temp gauge goes to hot as soon is i open the switch.
- With the ignition switch on, i disconect the sending sensor the gauge goes down.
- I have replaced the sendind sensor 2 times now, the problem persist.
- I have replaced the temperature sensor as well.
- I haved purged the cooling system
- The cooling fan will not turn on.
- I tested the fan with a clip and the fan runs.
- I replaced the cooling fan switch sensor, the problem persist.
- With the key sitch on i turned on the AC the cooling fan does not turn on.
Sounds like your sensor wiring is getting shorted out somewhere. Could probe each of the sensor wires to ground and see if they are both showing continuity to confirm. If so, start back tracing the non ground wire from the sensor.
I mentioned about checking both if they were grounding but not needed. I was wrong about everything. It seems like something to do with the wire going to the sending unit is being interrupted or shorted??

Are you sure all the grounds are connected to the engine? Seems obvious but that is where I would start.
Next step is to try to test the wires coming from the temperature sensor for continuity. The sensor is easy to find
