Help Temp Gauge doesnt work.

Hey i have a 94 hatch w/ a b18c swap. my temp gauge doesnt work any more as long as my fan. what could this be? my gauge it self? temp sendin unit? fan switch?

fan switch or the temp sensor the one on the back of the thermostat housing

The fan switch is the one on the therostat housing and the Temp sensor is at the left side of the block right? Is temp sensor and temp sending units is the same thing?
