Default No more check engine light?

Okay pretty much after a week I bought the car the check engine light has been on for the knock sensor and throughout the whole time I've had the car last what 12 years maybe anyway.
On my way to work today halfway down the road I noticed I don't have a check engine light.
So can someone tell me what's going on with the check engine light not coming on?
I used my scanner and I have error codes.
I did a quick Google and one of them said something about the ECM might be bad or going bad if so how do I look one up to fit my car to match it.
I think at one time I looked into someone on eBay that would match them up or something should I just replace the ECM?
I have addressed the error codes over the years the knock sensor is always been there but I've never bought the high dollar part to replace it.
