hey guys first time posting here was wondering if i could get some help from you guys. i recently bought a budget harness for h22 to "ek" from jackspania but they sent me a harness with an alt plug with only 3 connections but my alt (circle plug) has four pins was wondering if you guys can help me figure where to wire the 4th cable in or if they make a 3 pin alt? or does it not matter? harness is obd1 i believe thanks i appreciate the help

Lots of aftermarket engine harness builders do NOT place the ELD wire into the alternator plug... so if you want to add it, you can do so. You can also simply turn the ELD circuit off in the ECU if you have a tunable solution (like Hondata S300) and you will not need to add the wire to the plug.

 

ah okay i didn’t know that ! what if i don’t have a tunable ecu? can i run the car normally or would i have to pin it in ? and if i do have to pin it where does it go to? THANK YOU so much for the help i appreciate it !

 

It is not that simple. You will need a FSM to properly wire the ELD circuit because it is extensive.
