Default Hard bucking accel/decel

I have a b20b swapped 94 hatch that's now running a hondata p28 w/ a b20 base map. Previously was just a p28 that I'm assuming was chipped. I've put a lot into this car's suspension and such but I bought it pre b20b swapped and I'm trying to learn everything I can about the technicalities of the swap. It's been a dead reliable track/autoX car that's always had a great powerband and never let me down, however, it's around-town driveability is pretty meh. The car bucks pretty hard going on and off throttle. Feels like acceleration/deceleration is binary. Car is either on throttle hard, or the absolute opposite. This feels like a tune related thing to me, but I do know the car has some pretty stiff mounts. I remember the car still behaving similarly on the original ECU, but it seems amplified on the new hondata. Is this an issue anyone else has experience with? Was it a problem with a sensor? The throttle body? The tune? Or was it genuinely mainly a stuff engine mount issue? Thanks y'all, appreciate any feedback you guys have.

Either TPS calibration, fuel cut threshold, or low load timing is too aggressive because the distributor is set too far advanced or the timing tables are too far advanced at low loads; or combinations of those.

Are these issues something I could tune myself, or should I have it taken to a local tuner? My engine tweaking experience is limited. At this point I'm still definitely a bolt and unbolt person.

the distributor should be right in the middle of the adjustment range unless you have a timing light to fine tune it..

Most likely its the canned tuned~ those base maps are hit or miss.

Try contacting Phearable.net: Honda & Acura Performance Solutions have them send you a better base map and try that. You can even send them a data log and they can adjust the tune. I used there custom base map on my boosted B series for a long time and it ran perfect! only later on when i upgraded a few things i had it re tuned.
