Hey, I just bought this ej8 coupe today, and the engine is stamped as D16A. From what I understand, the EX came with the Y8, but I do know the previous owner said he had his mechanic swap the motor, this one was lower milage I believe, and his buddy had the motor from his car or something. From what I've seen, the D16A is the EDM or JDM import with VTEC, but I dont believe I have VTEC on mine, at least the valve cover doesn't say anything about it like I've seen on other engines. I don't have a picture of the stamp, but here's a kind of bad picture of the engine bay. did I accidentally get a car with VTEC, or am I just confused about the engine?

EDIT: Okay so there's a VTEC and non-VTEC version of the D16A, I'm going to check for a solenoid tomorrow and see.
Update #2: I have vtec!! I knew that's what I was hearing.
