buzzing sound underneath car 5 hours after parking
Five hours after parking my 2020 CR-V, I went to the garage to get a tool and heard a buzzing sound coming from underneath the car. I slid under the rear end and isolated the noise to what I later identified as the 'evaporative leak check pump' (17391-TLA-A03), located adjacent to the fuel vapor charcoal canister under the left rear seat. I verified ACC power was off. I checked later in the evening and the noise had stopped. I have no idea if this pump ran continuously all afternoon, or turned on later.
Is this normal? I found a picture of the assembly on the Internet.
(I got no response when I posted this in CR-V forum)
Re: buzzing sound underneath car 5 hours after parking
Gotta love EVAP crap.
The only time my Kia has ever left me stranded was out of the blue when it refused to crank at a gas station because there was a problem with an EVAP sensor. I just remember it was something ridiculous, made me late for work and the part I had to replace was a decent chunk of change for something I knew wasn't critical for the car to run. Spent an hour literally running between the gas station and a nearby Autozone to pull the code, get it fixed...
/ramble. One of several reasons I'll always prefer older cars...
