Default 01Civic No Spark

Hello everyone, I just joined and I'm having an issue with my civic. I'm at the end of my rope. I was driving when my car suddenly started running rough, the check engine light came on and i believe it went into some kind of limp mode, it would barely accelerate. Anyway, I was able to get it home and put the code reader on it. I don't remember the actual code but it read "attempted misfire". Didn't give me a cylinder number or anything. Was able to get the car started again and it ran fine briefly. The next morning it would crank but wouldn't fire. I replaced the plugs and coils packs, got a brand new battery, and replaced the crank positioning sensor. The cam shaft sensor was replaced about a year prior. I'm at a loss at this point. Has anyone ever experienced this issue or can point me in the direction I need to go? I appreciate any help at all, thanks!

If you have a scanner then you should read the codes , there may be a snap shot feature to see what happened when the code came up . Things should be tested before you go and buy new parts . If there was no spark and no injector pulse then I would have replaced the crank sensor with a honda OEM . Did you test for spark ? What does the air filter look like ? Why did you replace the batt. if it was cranking/turning over ? There is one fuse on the drivers side responsible for spark , #10 ? I don't remember . Is there old gas in the tank ? Did someone put something in the tank ?

A friend of mine used his scanner to read the code, he cleared the CEL when the car started back up and ran normally for a brief time. Ever since, there has been no code. I'm not just buying parts, I'm no mechanic but I've researched everything and still no luck. The battery is new because it was replaced prior to this issue. The car won't start with starting fluid. It's a spark issue, I've replaced the plugs, coils, and lastly the crank sensor and yes I used the Denso OEM sensor. I've checked all the fuses and relays. No old gas and there's definitely not anything in my gas tank.

have you tested for fuel pressure and injector pulse , did you TEST for spark ? Do you hear the fuel pump prime the system when you hit the key (WHHHHHRR) ? Did you check that one fuse(s) ?

The fuel pump primes just fine. The engine would have fired with starting fluid if there was spark, no? I checked all the fuses having anything to do with the ignition and they were all good.

As I remember I shot gas/starting fluid down the throttle of a 1.7 that had spark and it didn't fire . This engine is fuel injected , you need to test for spark , pull a tower and a spark plug , ground out the plug and see if there's spark . If you're so sure it's a spark problem grab the coil tower with your hand on the motor and crank it . You don't have a pace maker do you ?

You could have lost the cam sensor again. I would check the wiring on the cam sensor and make sure it isnt shorted. They could have band-aided it and moving the wiring seemed to fix it, and then the wiring settled back onto the shorting spot.
