I have this ticking noise coming from the head it sounds to me like the rocker arms slapping the valves extra hard the engine jumps when the noise comes around , had a misfire in 3 so that’s why I changed my intake and exhaust valves when I changed the valves one of the valve keepers decided to bounce into the exhaust manifold/ catalytic converter I did happen to see that one valve stem had a crack on top so I’m going to go back in and try to replace that cracked one and any damaged valves but trying to pin point the issue , I hear the noise even when cranking the car without the distributor on, I’m stuck on ideas since I checked the cylinders no valve keeper in there dropped the oil pan changed oil and looked inside the bottom block no damage or no valve steam keeper(lock) to me it doesn’t sound like rod knock more like something bouncing around
