Default 00 civic y7 easy or not upgrades for mpg

I found out I have some bent valves. I am thinking about how to get better mpg while I have it apart.
i am hoping I can get you guys to use your powers for good so I was thinking about doing some port work myself while I have the head off. maybe some decking
i heard the y8 Intake manifold flows better so i can get a couple ponies there. does that bolt right up?
I was thinking about a header, but I have the cat manifold. I would be willing to delete cat for proper gains. is it worth it?
i am a machinist, used to do valve jobs. all cylinder heads need port work. I'm a you get 80% of your results from 20%of the work kind of guy. usually behind the valves is the best place to free up some horsepower on any particular head. there are some features on an old Oldsmobile head that were well known.
Do this get this, do that get that, any jerk with a die grinder, could get 20 horse in a couple hours on cast iron. I'm fluent in die grinder, I'm looking for some, do this while you're in there, tips on port work, I'm not polishing. I might even get out the sand paper, if someone sells me on it.
what about ceramic coating the ports?
what about a manual swap? what about a 6 speed what cars will one fit from? any bolt right up?
thanks for any help
