Default Need help deciding what would be better financially wise

I currently own a 1994 Acura integra gsr. It was bought with a d16z6 vtec already in it and I’m really not sure if I should build the d series or wait to buy the original engine (b18c1) and then build that. I want a fun weekend car that is around 450-550 whp. I did research on building a d series and so far I’m only seeing around 350 hp max because my biggest worry is the sleeves cracking but it is cheaper. Yes I have driving experience with these numbers and I understand that it is a lot for such a light car but that’s just my final final goal. I plan to build either of the engine completely and run fbo with a turbocharger. my budget would be around 10 grand in total but that is likely to grow if needed.

10k for a fun weekend car. Are you the engine builder? If not, half of your 10k budget will be spent on labor. Look at King Motor Sports B Series build options to see how much the charge to build engines.

I couldn't drive an Integra without a B series.

Edit: Maybe one with a K series

yes I would be the engine builder in this case sorry I forgot to mention. I have all the tools to do so and the only thing I’d really have to pay to get done would be machine work.
[Edit] I also forgot to ask where could I even source a b18c1 because hmotors aren’t selling any and everywhere I look I can’t find any. All I find are b18b1 blocks and I might end up doing that if I can’t find any of the c1 engines

I think you might be better off sourcing from scratch.
