I have a '99 Prelude and my cruise control doesn't work. The entire system works except for the piece that sits above the clutch pedal (not the one connected to the firewall). When I adjusted my clutch pedal position (to get rid of shaky pedal feel when fully released), my clutch sensor ended up cracking into two, shortening the amount of threads I can work with. I'm thinking that because the threads are gone, the little needle at the end isn't fully pushing into the unit, so my car thinks my clutch is being pushed in and disallowing me from using cruise control, what do you think?
Is there a fix for this without having to replace it? I don't want to drop 50$ into a new unit. I was thinking of shoving something down there and taping it inside so the car always thinks the pedal is always released. I don't mind the jump in revs if I have to shift, planning to use this for very very long commutes anyway.
