Hey so I was going to attempt my timing chain on my k24 it’s still in the car I was wondering when cleaning up the timing chain cover do I have to sand down the mating surfaces or can I just scrape the old rtv off and plan on using brake clean to clean the surface before putting on the new rtv. I was originally going to use scotch bright but heard that leaving bits of the aluminum can harm things even tho I do plan on changing the oil once finished the timing chain job
