Default 2003 ex 5mt no reverse

Had a clutch put in around November. Also had knee replacement in November. Went to downshift from 3rd to 2nd and the shifter in the car felt really loose and sloppy. First time it’s felt like this. Get home and I have absolutely no reverse. It’s like reverse doesn’t exist at all. If I shift slowly 1-4 work however if you try to shift from 3rd to 2nd quickly it doesn’t go into 2nd. I also am back in college at 51 with a calculus physics test that dropped this afternoon. I ain’t got time for this crap.. The shop that did the clutch blew out a front shock broke the lock **** using it to shut the door and the the knee panel under the column so they will never see me again.

Check that the shifter cables are installed correctly on top of the transmission. Sounds like the are sliding off or are damaged.

thanks you for the help. As far as the linkages go they are attached complete with new cotter pins from where the shop changed my clutch. The linkage if manipulated from under the hood seems to be ok. If I push the linkage down it pops right back up from on top of the transmission.
